This brochure explains the scope of each warranty and the quality you can expect from your recently installed carpet. In addition to detailed warranty coverage, this brochure also defines what is required from the homeowner to maintain a valid warranty.

Please keep a copy of this warranty along with the following important documents and resources:

  • Original invoice/sales receipt
  • A2’x2’uninstalled sample of your carpet
  • Types of adhesives and tapes if used instead of FriXion® Pads

This documentation will provide critical information needed in the unlikely event of a claim. The uninstalled sample is recommended in case a repair or testing during a claim becomes necessary.

LCT® Performance Warranty Details

The following outlines the Carpet DIY General Warranty Conditions and Homeowner Requirements. Please read the “Exclusion” portion of this warranty brochure and the disclaimer and limited liability details.

The following are warranties provided by Carpet DIY

LCT® LIMITED STAIN RESISTANCE WARRANTY

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

No carpet is fully stain-proof. Carpet DIY warrants that the surface pile of your LCT® carpet will remain stain-resistant to most household beverage and food substances for the specified warranty period in an owner-occupied residence. LCT® stain warranties exclude stains from substances such as medications, acids, caustic chemicals, insecticides, paints, plant food, iodine, rust, dyes, feces, and waxes.

Proper cleaning is essential in reducing the level of soiling in your carpet. Carpets must be vacuumed and cleaned on a regular basis to reduce soiling levels. All carpets respond to soiling differently.

LCT® solution-dyed polyester carpets include the resistance of stains from pet urine in their warranty. This coverage is for staining because of urine from a domesticated dog and/or cat. No other animals are included in the coverage. This warranty does not cover stains related to fecal matter and/or damage to the carpet's backing and/or subfloor because of pet urine. This coverage does not include odor or mold that may occur because of pet urine. LCT® provides that a tile may be machine-washed up to 3 times (see washing instructions).

Exclusions:

The Stain Resistance Limited Warranty does not include soiling and/or staining from aggressive dyes. Examples of these stains that are not covered under the warranty include, but are not limited to: shoe polish, cosmetics, paint, acids, acne medication, drain cleaners, plant foods, candles, carpet deodorizers, vinyl and tile polishes, disinfectants, animal foods, fecal matter, vomit, blood.

Indentations due to furniture or other household items are also not covered. All carpets must be installed correctly and properly maintained for the warranty to be valid for the specified period. LCT® will not provide credit for labor charges for appearance-related defects that should have been noticed prior to installation.

Exclusions:

The Quality Assurance Warranty excludes matting, crushing, or any change in appearance or pile retention. These are not manufacturing defects but maintenance-related issues. Snags and pulling of loops in the carpet are not considered defects and are not covered by this warranty.

See "General Terms, Limitations, and Warranty Exclusions" for a full list of exclusions.
